Terms for a free beta.
Greyboard is a free beta, offered as it is. Your models, photos and files are yours, and you may use exported cutting layouts commercially. Cutting is at your own risk: before you start, measure the 50 mm check square on the 1:1 PDF and test the kerf on your own machine. These terms are dated 3 November 2026.
A free beta, as it is
Greyboard is free during the beta, export included, and needs no account. It is offered as it is: we look after it with care, but we can’t promise that it will always be available, free of errors or right for a particular job.
What you make is yours
Your models, photos and exported files belong to you. You may use them for anything, paid work included: a model for a client, a competition entry, teaching, a laser-cut kit you sell. We claim no rights over them, and since they stay on your device, we never see them.
Cutting is your responsibility
Material values in the studio (thickness, kerf, knife passes, laser speed and cutting time) are starting values, not measurements of your sheet or your machine. You cut at your own risk.
- Print the PDF at 100% and measure the 50 mm check square before you cut.
- Make a test cut to find the kerf and power that suit your machine and your sheet.
- Never leave a laser cutter running unattended: card and wood can catch fire.
Using the studio fairly
Don’t use Greyboard to break the law, and don’t harm the service, for example by attacking or overloading the site, or by trying to interfere with how it works for others.
The beta will change
Features may move, change or disappear while the studio grows. Your works live in your browser, so they can be lost if you clear its data or the browser frees up space. Export what matters: DXF, SVG, PDF and your photos are ordinary files you keep.
If export becomes paid
Export of cutting layouts is free during the beta. If it becomes paid later, it will be said here first, before anything changes, and what you have already made and exported stays yours.
Changes to these terms
This is the first version of the terms, dated 3 November 2026. If they change, the new date goes at the top. A full version, with a contact address, will be published before the public launch.
